Ronald Crane reports from The Draintech Community Ground
The Robins were totally dominant in this match. From beginning to end, it was all The Robins. Awarded a Penalty in the second minute, Hayden Purves dispatched it to open the scoring. Town never really recovered from this set back.
On the other hand, The Robins took full advantage. Town may have won eight nil last Saturday, but it was a different story at Hampton Road. Although they never gave up and continued to seek that elusive goal, they were totally out-classed.
If Knowle had won with an ugly performance last Saturday, this match was a different kettle of fish. They were superior in every department. A solid back four, a fluid and dominant mid-field, topped by a forward line that was a nightmare to play against.
Hayden Purves scored two including a penalty; Callum Burston-Keeley scored two, Jack Duggan one, Zak Parsons one, and Odane Barnes one. Totalling seven in all. It could have been more. Earlswood had no response, except to limit The Robins to just two goals in the second-half.
The returning Jack Duggan showed why he is such an important element in the Knowle armoury, slotting in beside Ricardo Dudley, they made a formidable pairing. Toby Scott gave a master-class in midfield. Craig Johnson had to make just two – regulation – saves.
With Northfield Town and Birmingham United playing out a two – two draw, this result leaves The Robins on fifty-nine points, with seven matches to play. Birmingham United have forty-seven points with seven matches to play. Northfield Town have forty- five points with ten matches to play.
